I Gave The Prince To My Sister And Found My True Mate Chapter 02

I Gave The Prince To My Sister And Found My True Mate Chapter 02

My mother had been right.

In my last life, I had clutched the red card in my hand. No matter how Mother tried to persuade me or how Father tried to force me with his Alpha command, I refused to sign the transfer request.

Until Prince Lucian walked into the royal reception hall.

The cameras hadn’t been turned off yet. Representatives from every territory, members of the Royal Council, and the parents of the candidates were all watching me.

I lifted my face and, for the first time in public, defied my Alpha.

“Your Highness, I’m the one who drew the red card. My identity bracelet and the official records can prove it.”

“I am willing to be your fiancée.”

The entire hall fell silent.

A crown prince’s marriage is never his own. The Cedar Valley Pack controlled the medical supply lines south of the capital and also held a key vote on the Royal Council. Whichever Porter daughter married into the royal family, the Crown stood to gain the same advantages.

The only difference was whether that person was me.

Lucian’s gaze swept over the crowd before it settled on me.

I still remembered that moment. His eyes were like warm fire, the heat spreading from my fingertips all the way into my chest.

He smiled.

“Since you drew the red card, it will be you.”

That was the first thing he ever said to me.

It was also the beginning of every fantasy I ever had.

Until the day of the wedding, when Rosalie stood at the entrance of the Alpha’s residence in a white dress. She looked like a lily in the rain, her eyes faintly red as she gazed quietly at Lucian as he arrived to take me to our wedding.

He stopped beside the car and didn’t move for a long time.

If the royal master of ceremonies hadn’t reminded him, he nearly would have missed the wedding broadcast from the Royal Castle.

That night, I gave myself to him, awkward and complete.

I was too nervous, too happy, to notice that he was distracted the whole time.

Only afterward did he bring up Rosalie.

“She received proper Luna training and understands royal etiquette. She would be a great asset by my side.”

Lucian had an arm around me, his voice still gentle, as if he were discussing something mundane.

“I won’t give her a title. You will still be my only official wife. But I want her to move into the estate, under my open protection. Can you accept that?”

I stared at his beautiful profile as a chill spread through me, inch by inch.

This wasn’t some unrecognized arrangement. It was betrayal, carefully wrapped and presented.

My heart plunged into ice water.

I threatened to kill myself and refused him completely.
