Regrets Of What Was Lost Chapter 15
I barely slept that night.
The Savannah beside me felt like a completely different person.
All the softness and warmth she used to have were gone.
Three days before the hearing, I finally got in touch with Zinnia.
“Zinnia, I’ll wait for you at the Starbucks on the corner.”
I got there early.
But when I pushed the door open, the person sitting at our table was Savannah.
“What are you doing here?”
“Why shouldn’t I be here?”
She looked at me, her voice openly mocking.
“What can’t the two of you say in front of me? Tucker, you said you were going to marry me.”
I grabbed her arm, irritated, and tried to pull her up.
“I’m here to talk about child support. Go home. Don’t let her see you. Don’t make this worse.”
Savannah shook off my hand and sat back down.
“You told me you couldn’t touch your money because you were afraid she’d accuse you of transferring assets. But the second she asked for five hundred thousand in child support, you were ready to agree without a second thought.”
