Paige’s lawsuit threw the household into chaos.
Unable to handle her, Robert and Elaine directed all the blame onto me. They told everyone I was ruthless, that I had insisted on releasing the video and turned the family against itself.
“She has to come back and clean up this mess.”
When they couldn’t reach me, they showed up at my former company in Denver and caused a scene.
HR and my old supervisor met them. “Nora has resigned. Her whereabouts are protected under privacy law. The company has no right to disclose them.”
They refused to leave, convinced the company was shielding me.
Elaine stopped employees in the lobby, tearfully telling her side of the story, while Robert held up hand-lettered signs demanding the company hand me over.
My old supervisor called and asked what he should do.
I gave him two sentences.
“Call the police. And give them my lawyer’s card.”
My lawyer sent a formal warning letter that same day.
They tore it up and came back the next morning.
