Reborn Rupture Chapter 12
“Did what on purpose?”
“You knew Krystal is terrible at physics. And you still made sure my mom heard about the competition.”
I looked up at him and smiled sweetly.
“I made sure your mom heard about it? Weren’t you the one who told her Krystal had a 4.0 GPA?”
His face went rigid.
I leaned in closer, my voice dropping to a whisper.
“Matteo, if you actually care about Krystal, then tell your mother to shut her mouth. ”
“Stop letting her bully me and then running over here to play the good guy.”
He was silent for a long moment, then said, “I know you’re just doing all this for my attention. ”
“If you want it that badly, I’ll let you kiss me. Will that be enough? Just stop making things hard for Krystal.”
I almost gagged.
“Matteo, are you delusional? Who would want to kiss you?”
I turned and walked away.
“Stay the hell away from me.”
On the day of the competition, Krystal and I were assigned to the same room.
Her seat was diagonally behind mine. When she walked in, she shot me a smug little smirk.
A knot of dread formed in my stomach.
Once the papers were distributed, I put my head down and began to work.
The questions weren’t particularly tricky, but they required intense focus.
