Reborn Rupture Chapter 13

Halfway through the exam, a hand shot up.
“Teacher! I want to report Virginia Bennett for cheating!”
Krystal stood up and pointed at me.
“When she looked down just now, I saw her looking at her phone!”
The room erupted in whispers.
The proctor slammed her hand on the desk.
“Quiet!”
She walked over, collected my paper and Krystal’s, and escorted us out of the exam room.
In the security office, several teachers huddled around a monitor, reviewing the footage.
On the screen, I was bent over my test, my hands on the desk in plain sight the entire time.
I had never touched a phone; there was nothing suspicious about my behavior at all.
Krystal put on an apologetic expression.
“Oh, maybe I saw it wrong. I’m so sorry, Virginia…”
The proctor was furious, her face a mask of anger.
“This is absurd! You’ve wasted the time of the entire room!”
By the time they let us back in, fifteen minutes had passed.
I sat down and stared at the half-finished problem on my desk.
My train of thought was completely gone.
I took a deep breath and tried to reread the question, but my mind was a chaotic mess. I couldn’t focus.
