Everyone Betrayed Me While I Carried His Baby Chapter 14
“I asked you. I asked if I was still your daughter.”
“You told me not to make a fuss. You told me to be more understanding.”
“So now I’m making it simple. I’m leaving all of you to Jenna.”
I shook them off and walked away, holding the box that contained my child.
Rhys followed quietly behind me.
We were almost to the car when Cassian caught up to us.
“Seren, wait. Where are you going?”
Rhys had been holding it in the entire time. Now, he finally snapped.
He rolled up his sleeves, took off his glasses, and punched Cassian square in the jaw.
Cassian staggered back, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, and swung back.
The two of them were on the ground in seconds, grappling in the manicured hotel driveway.
“You bastard! How do you have the nerve to even look at her?” Rhys snarled.
“If I had known you would do this to her, I would have dragged her away with me years ago!”
“Both of you, stop it! Are you going to fight all day?”
I rushed over and kicked Cassian hard in the stomach.
“Seren!”
Cassian’s eyes were bloodshot. He reached out, his hand clutching the hem of my pants.
“I know I was wrong. Just give me one more chance.”
“What chance?”
I stepped back, shaking his hand off my leg.
“Another chance to cheat on me? Another chance to hurt me?”
“No, Seren. I know I misunderstood you. I know I hurt you, betrayed you. I know this was all my fault.”
He was trembling as he spoke, his voice choked with sobs.
If he hadn’t done those things, they could have had a family.
He still remembered the first time he saw Seren in college. She had won first prize at the student art exhibition and was standing by her painting, smiling as she took photos with her classmates.
He had walked up to her and asked, “Can I get a photo with you?”
He still had that photo in his wallet.
