He Gave My Ring To Her Now He Wears His Regret Chapter 07

When Nico pushed open the door to our suite, the sofa bed in the living room was empty.

My suitcase was gone, too.

He froze for a second, then immediately reached for the rental car keys.

But Alessia wrapped her arms around him from behind.

“Nico, where are you going? Virginia just wants you to chase her.”

“If you go tonight, she’ll do this every time she gets mad.”

Nico stopped.

Whenever I cried, Alessia used to say I was just being manipulative.

Whenever I got angry, she’d remind Nico that he couldn’t give in to my every whim.

So, every time we fought, he would wait for me to be the one to back down first.

This time was no different.

He stood at the door for a long time, then finally set the car keys back on the table.

“You’re right. Let her cool off. She’ll come back tomorrow.”

The next morning, I didn’t come back.

Nico opened his laptop and discovered our wedding website had been deleted.

That was when he finally called the wedding planner.

“Send Virginia the link to the wedding website again.”

There was a short silence on the other end of the line.

“Mr. Santoro, Ms. Cross formally canceled the wedding last night.”

“All invited guests have already been notified.”

Nico’s brow tightened.

“Who told you to cancel it?”

“The contract was signed by Ms. Cross. She also paid for all wedding expenses.”

“She has the authority to make that decision.”

Only then did Nico remember that I had handled most of the wedding.

From the venue to the guest favors, almost every detail had been my responsibility.

He had only glanced at the final budget and said, “It’s just a wedding. Keep it simple.”

But for that “simple” wedding, I had personally visited over twenty hotels, tasted more than thirty desserts, and stayed up late triple-checking every guest’s information.

I had just wanted everything to be perfect.

And he hadn’t even known whose name was on the contract.
