He Chose His Ex So I Chose My Empire Chapter 15
All eyes were on me.
I looked down at Liam, whose face was a thundercloud, and spoke calmly into the microphone.
“Liam, I’m tired. Let’s get a divorce.”
A gasp rippled through the room, followed by an explosion of murmurs.
Liam stood frozen, as if the words hadn’t registered.
Then I looked at Serena.
Just moments ago, she had been the radiant center of attention. Now, the color had drained from her face.
“Serena, you like him so much, don’t you?”
I smiled.
“Then I’ll give him to you.”
Everyone stared, stunned.
The assistant who’d made the call turned white.
I raised my glass to the room. “Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Elara Vance.”
I paused for a beat, my gaze landing squarely on Serena.
“And I don’t recall my grandfather, Arthur Vance, having any heir but me.”
“But some people are certainly creative. They not only want someone else’s husband, but they also want their family name.”
Arthur Hayes, the COO, stood below the stage, wineglass in hand.
He heard my words and nearly stumbled.
He looked at Liam in terror, his voice cracking.
“Mr. Liam, your wife… your wife is…”
Liam strode forward, grabbing my wrist in a tight grip.
He took another microphone from a nearby stand and said hoarsely to the crowd, “My wife is Elara.”
Then he looked at everyone, his tone leaving no room for argument.
“I apologize. This is a private matter. My wife and I will be leaving.”
The next second, he was pulling me off the stage.
As we passed Serena, I stopped for a moment.
I watched her expression crumble.
In that instant, all I felt was the clean, sharp satisfaction of victory.
