My Fiancé Sent Me To Another Man On Our Wedding Day Chapter 07

On the way back down the hill, he passed a narrow path and overheard two of the household staff talking.

“There was quite a racket coming from the honeymoon suite last night.”

“I heard it, too. That young Mr. Hawthorne seems so reserved. I never would’ve guessed he had it in him.”

Rafael stopped dead in his tracks.

Young Mr. Hawthorne?

Honeymoon suite?

Before he could process it, a tall young man walked past him.

Rafael instinctively turned to look.

Tall, straight-backed, with striking features.

The man had taken a few steps before Rafael’s gaze fell to his wrist.

His entire body went rigid.

“Wait.”

The young man stopped and turned around.

“Can I help you?”

Rafael stared at the braided cord bracelet on his wrist.

The bracelet itself was ordinary, but the knot was distinctive.

In the neighborhood where they had grown up, Helena was the only one who knew how to tie knots like that.

Rafael couldn’t stop himself from asking, “Where did you get that bracelet?”

The man glanced at him, his tone cool.

“My wife made it for me.”

“Your wife?”

The man raised an eyebrow.

“Why are you so interested in my wife?”

“No,” Rafael denied quickly. “I just thought the bracelet looked nice.”

The man said nothing more and turned to leave.

Rafael stood frozen, staring after him.

He told himself he was overthinking it.

The person Helena had married was an old man.

It couldn’t have been that young man.

It just couldn’t.
