My Fiancé Sent Me To Another Man On Our Wedding Day Chapter 18
Conrad thought it was ridiculous.
Who arranged marriages in this day and age?
He immediately decided to put a stop to it.
On the wedding day, he went looking for the limousine that was picking up the bride, intending to call the whole thing off before she even reached the church.
But just as he found the car, the pile-up happened.
When he saw a girl in a wedding dress trapped in the wreckage, he didn’t think. He just ran.
He pulled me out of the twisted metal.
He had planned to explain everything—that the marriage was arranged by his family, that he didn’t want it, and that if she didn’t want it either, they could call it off.
But when he saw my face, he froze.
He never imagined that the girl he’d had a secret crush on in high school would suddenly appear before him like this.
So the words he had planned to say—*Let’s call off the wedding*—became something else entirely.
“I’ll take you to the church.”
What followed unfolded like a dream.
The vows. The rings. The kiss.
And on our wedding night, Conrad still gave me an out.
“Helena, I know this isn’t the marriage you planned. If you regret this, I won’t touch you.”
“I like you a great deal, but I respect your decision more.”
He had expected me to refuse.
But I looked at him and said just three words.
“I’m willing.”
“Conrad, since I’ve decided to marry you, I’m going to do this with my whole heart.”
“I don’t regret it.”
That night, when Conrad held me, it was as if he were finally holding the one thing he had always wanted.
Neither of us could have imagined that the Bennett family’s debt would bring Margot to our doorstep on our daughter’s first birthday.
