He Married Another So I Accepted My Arranged Husband Chapter 08
There wasn’t a person in their world who didn’t know the name Desmond Bellandi.
I had once told Salvatore, “I don’t care about your power or when you’ll finally secure your position as heir.”
He had always believed I was different from the others, the ones who measured everything by Family interests.
And now I had turned around and married a Family boss even more powerful than he was.
A heavy pressure crushed his chest.
But he knew he had no right to feel wronged.
He had pushed me away with his own two hands.
He had abandoned me nine times.
The man who should have been signing those papers with me yesterday was him, but he had left again, for Talia.
He had even signed away half of Northstar—the company we built together—as part of an alliance with the Moretti Family.
He didn’t even know how things had gotten this far.
He had always, always thought I would never leave.
Talia saw the news, too.
She immediately started to rage.
“Sal, how could Indigo do this?”
“Was she that desperate to find someone with more power?”
“I really thought she was my friend.”
“I only borrowed you for one day to get out of my engagement. But she turned around and created an alliance between the Contis and the Bellandis just to make us a laughingstock.”
Salvatore sank onto the floor and lit a cigarette.
On the table was a notice that had just been delivered by the Ferraro Family.
Northstar was one of the Family’s key legitimate businesses. Until the matter of the company’s equity and the Moretti alliance was fully investigated, his authority as heir was frozen.
He kept scrolling through the comments on the news feed.
Every single one was a congratulations.
Not one said what he so desperately needed to see.
