My Guardian Married My Sister But I’m His Alpha Chapter 12
“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.”
The priest’s voice echoed through the chapel.
“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
One by one, the members of Nightfall bowed their heads in respect for their former Alpha.
As soon as the service ended, Chiara turned to leave.
Francesca stopped her at once.
“Chiara, where are you going? We’re having lunch with the Riverbend elders—”
“No need.”
“Stop.” Her grandfather’s cane struck the marble floor. “The Suttons came all this way with formal witnesses, and you’re just going to walk out? How do you expect our two Packs to save face?”
Chiara stopped.
Not because of her grandfather.
But because Tucker Sutton had already stepped directly into her path.
He wore a deep blue suit, the Riverbend insignia pinned to his chest, with his family’s witnesses standing behind him.
They had come prepared.
“Chiara,” he said, his tone condescending, “your sister mentioned that your last three years in France weren’t easy. Now that you’re back, it’s time to settle down.”
He stepped closer, attempting to use his heir’s wolf-pressure to force her to submit.
Chiara didn’t flinch.
She released a sliver of her own Alpha pressure, the power of the Moretti bloodline, and Tucker stopped short.
“I’m willing to offer you a place in my Pack,” he said, recovering. “Both our families are here today. We can settle the courtship agreement right now.”
