The Wedding Game That Cost Him Everything Chapter 14

He couldn’t even steady his breathing.

“Where is Isolde?”

He looked at his parents, his voice an outright plea.

“Please, just give Isolde back to me.”

“Pathetic.” His father let out a cold snort. “Played by a woman so badly you forgot your own place.”

Tucker shook his head. “Isolde never played me.”

“Your father meant Sloane,” his mother said calmly. “And you didn’t love Isolde that much, did you? You were together for three years. Sloane came back for three months and turned you right back into what you used to be.”

Tucker wanted to argue.

After all, Sloane had been with him for many years. The ties between their Families and the habits formed since childhood were not so easy to sever.

But when he saw the open disgust in his parents’ faces—and in the Bellandi Family’s—whenever they looked at Sloane, he suddenly felt tired.

Maybe his endless indulgence of Sloane really had been a mistake.

In the confusion, Sloane shook free of Sierra and rushed over, grabbing Tucker’s hand and dragging him toward the door.
