He Locked Me Out Now He’s Begging Me Back Chapter 39

Daniel didn’t move.

One hand braced on the doorframe, his shoulders slowly sagged.

“You’re right. It was my decision,” he said hoarsely. “Bringing Tessa into the master bedroom, giving you guest access, hiding the school paperwork from you… all of it. Is that what you wanted to hear?”

“This isn’t about what I want to hear. It’s about you finally stopping the blame from sliding onto someone else.”

“Then what do you want me to do?”

“Sign the house sale agreement and the divorce settlement. Otherwise, wait for a judge to order it.”

He stared at me.

“You’re really not giving me any chance at all?”

“I already did.”

I reminded him that at first, I had only asked him to honor the six-week stay we’d agreed on, and he’d called me hostile to his daughter.

When I discovered the lock permissions, I asked him to restore them, and he said I was making drama over an app.

When I found the school affidavit, I asked him to be honest, and instead, he tried to push me into signing off on a loan against the house.

Even during mediation, I had given him thirty days to buy out my share.

“Daniel, every single time, you thought I was just angry—that if you waited me out or soothed me enough, I’d keep cleaning up after you.”
