“You pushed me down the stairs,” I said, looking at both children. “You falsely accused me of giving you wolfsbane, so that Lucian ordered guards to force poison into my body.”
Noah and Iris lowered their heads.
“At your heir’s birthday banquet, you brought Vivian to the Luna’s place in front of all of Highridge and said I was just the woman who took care of the pack manor.”
“These things happened. I didn’t imagine them.”
Noah’s face reddened.
“We were too young. We know we were wrong now. Please forgive us.”
Behind me, Chloe asked softly, “Evelyn, are you going to leave?”
Elias lifted her into his arms.
“Chloe, let Evelyn decide for herself,” he said gently. “Where she goes is not for us to decide.”
Lucian’s Alpha pressure surged through the room without warning.
“What right do you have to interfere in my family?”
Elias didn’t release his own wolf pressure in response. He just stood his ground and answered calmly, “I’m a Tidewatch Healer, and her friend. As for what right I have—at the very least, I’ve never hurt her and then demanded she prove she still loves me.”
