He Scorned My Love Now He Watches My Rise Chapter 17

“Now that I don’t want to say it anymore, you’re suddenly willing to listen.”

“Colton, I never needed the future Alpha to grant me innocence.”

“I just needed my partner to stand with me when other people were tearing me down.”

“But you didn’t.”

His eyes slowly reddened.

“Give me one more chance. We can forget the claim ceremony, forget the Luna registration.”

“No.”

My answer was immediate.

Colton stood there, unmoving.

“You really don’t love me anymore?”

“I did.”

I nodded.

“That’s why I put up with it for three years.”

“But not anymore.”

My wolf recognized his scent, but she no longer had any desire to go near it.

Not far away, one of my coworkers called my name.

The project meeting wasn’t over. They were waiting for me.

I turned to leave, and Colton suddenly caught my wrist—only to let go the instant he touched me.

“I’ll wait for you. Three years, longer, whatever it takes.”

“That’s your choice.”

“You’re really never going to look back, are you?”

I didn’t answer.

He already knew.

Colton stayed in Red Sand territory for seven days.

He came to the project office every day, but he never tried to stop me again.
