He Scorned My Love Now He Watches My Rise Chapter 16

Colton’s hand froze in midair.

We had never completed the claim. There was no mate bond to make separation ache, no force in the world that could compel me to forgive him.

“I can change.”

“You’ve said that before.”

After the first fake attack, he had held me and sworn he wouldn’t go along with their games again.

After the second, he’d said Bianca was just sharp-tongued, not cruel.

At the mall, he’d said he was just harsh and told me to take the card and buy something I liked.

Every time, he only thought the method had been wrong.

He had never truly believed me.

Colton spoke in a low voice. “I’ll explain it to the whole pack. I’ll make sure everyone knows you’re not that kind of person.”

“I don’t need that.”

“I can stay here with you.”

“I don’t need that, either.”

“Then what do you want me to do?”

For the first time, his voice cracked, though he forced it back under control almost immediately.

“You tell me. Whatever you want, I’ll do it.”

I looked at him.

“I already told you, a long time ago.”

“I told you that using silver wounds to test someone’s feelings was hurtful. I told you that Bianca wasn’t allowed to come into our home whenever she wanted.”

“I also told you I wasn’t with you for money or because I wanted to be Luna.”

“But you never listened.”
