She Framed Me As Unfit So I’ll See Her In Court Chapter 03

Principal Hanley’s expression stayed frozen for a few seconds before her tone suddenly softened.

“Ms. Carter, there’s no need to make this so complicated. We can handle it internally. If this gets bigger, it will only affect Maya.”

“The fact that I don’t want this to affect her is the very reason I need to find out who is using her to hurt me.”

I didn’t raise my voice.

“Principal, I’ve already made a written request to preserve the evidence. If the footage is lost, my lawyer will regard that as negligence on the school’s part.”

She stared at the email on her computer, then at Beth’s drained face. My written notice was now part of the school system. This was no longer something she could erase with a casual “family conflict.”

The office went quiet for a moment.

At last, Principal Hanley picked up the phone.

“Call IT. Have them preserve all footage from this morning in the hallway, by the lockers, and at the classroom entrance. Immediately.”

She set the receiver down and forced out, “Will that do?”

I didn’t answer. I only walked over to Maya and bent down to zip up her coat.

“Let’s go home. Mommy will make your favorite.”

Maya clung tightly to my hand.

I calmly completed the absence form and led her out of the office. The parents watching outside quickly looked away. I didn’t explain, and I didn’t stop.

Behind me, Principal Hanley paced in agitation, checking her phone again and again. Beth stood frozen in place, not even daring to lift her head.

Once we were in the car, I watched the school gate recede in the rearview mirror.

Last time, they destroyed me with rumors and insinuations.

This time, I had emails, copied counsel, and case numbers.
