She Framed Me As Unfit So I’ll See Her In Court Chapter 14

But my mother stopped there in the rain, gripping my hand hard.

“I’ve heard what people are saying online.” She was shaking all over from crying. “What gives them the right to drag your name through the mud? I’m going to Caleb right now and demanding justice for you!”

The words tore open the memory of my last life.

That time, my mother had gone charging to Caleb’s house, too. Sloan had deliberately provoked her, while Caleb held up his phone and recorded the whole scene of her crying and arguing.

That video was later handed to CPS as evidence that “Nia’s family support system is emotionally unstable.”

After Maya was taken away and I was dead, my mother wouldn’t even spend money on medicine.

Six months later, in that freezing apartment, all that remained was an overdue electric bill.

“Mom. Look at me.”

I dragged myself out of the memory, took her rough, freezing hand, and led her home.

I opened my computer and clicked open the evidence folder. Screenshots of the posts, police receipts, case numbers, emails from my lawyer—everything was lined up clearly, item by item.

“I’m not enduring this in silence. I have a plan, and I have a lawyer.” I looked straight at her. “Trust me. Stay here, and don’t go anywhere.”

She stared for a long time. At last, her clenched fist loosened, and she nodded through her tears.

In this life, she did not walk through the door that destroyed us.

I wiped her tears away, and in my heart, not a trace of wavering was left.

All the tears from last time—I had already cried them all.
