After Lefting Me On The Bridge He Lost His Mind Chapter 22
The notification chime for the sent email was very quiet.
But I knew the thing Truett feared most had finally landed in the right hands.
The next morning, the compliance department asked me to meet them in a conference room.
They questioned me in detail.
I told them only three things.
On Thanksgiving, Truett had driven me onto the bridge under the pretense of meeting his family. He then locked me out of the car in a storm while I had a high fever. Afterward, he and Chloe confirmed in their group chat that this was all for a fifteen-thousand-dollar bet.
Every statement I made was backed up by their own videos, photos, and messages.
I didn’t add a single embellishment.
At noon, the bid results were officially announced.
The Southern branch won the project.
In front of the entire team, the general manager placed the deputy director appointment letter in my hands.
“Mavis, you earned this.”
As applause filled the room, I lowered my eyes to my name on the letter.
For the first time, the results of my work belonged entirely to me.
At the same time, an internal notice went out from the New York branch.
Truett’s suspension was extended, and he was formally entering a termination review.
Chloe was also suspended from all duties.Â
