Everyone Betrayed Me While I Carried His Baby Chapter 06

Cassian’s legs nearly gave out.

Even his voice shook.

“Something’s happened to Seren. It’s all my fault.”

“Cassian, don’t panic,” Jenna said, carefully taking his hand.

“A little bit of blood doesn’t mean anything serious happened. She’s probably just angry and hiding somewhere. We still have Angela’s christening tomorrow. You need to calm down.”

Adriana chimed in. “She’s right. I know Seren. This is just how she is.”

“Don’t worry,” she added. “She’ll probably show up at the party tomorrow on her own.”

Only then did the tension in Cassian’s shoulders ease slightly.

He closed his eyes, his voice low.

“Jenna, after the christening, we’re getting a divorce.”

“My child with Seren is due soon. I’m going to be with them from now on.”

“You and Angela can move into the villa on the south side of the city. I’ll visit when I have time.”

The color drained from Jenna’s face.

She shot a desperate look at Adriana, begging her to intervene.

But Adriana, who had always been her staunchest defender, was just staring blankly at the bloodstain on the floor.

Jenna dug her nails into her palm, a bitter laugh rising in her throat.

She knew that whether these people still cared about Seren Lombardi or not, it didn’t matter. Seren was never coming back.

At that moment, I was lying in a hospital bed.

Rhys Pierce sat beside me, holding out a bowl of oatmeal.

“Seren, eat something. You haven’t eaten in over twenty-four hours.”

I just stared at the ceiling, tears spilling from the corners of my eyes.

As I had lain in that room, the life bleeding out of me, I knew my baby was gone.

In that moment, I didn’t want anything anymore. I just wanted to leave this world with my child.
