He Cheated With My Friend My Parents Helped Chapter 29
After returning to Seattle, the first place Gabriel went was my parents’ house.
The lock code had been changed. Sienna’s birthday no longer worked.
When Thomas opened the door and saw him, his face hardened.
“What are you doing here?”
“I came to get my things from the guest room.”
Thomas didn’t let him in.
The room that had been staged to look like a hotel had been dismantled. The baby supplies were gone, taken away by Laura. All that remained was the old family photo, leaning against the wall where it had been tossed.
Thomas dragged Gabriel’s suitcase to the door.
“It’s all here.”
Gabriel didn’t take it.
“Where’s Laura?”
“We’re separated.”
When Thomas said the words, he seemed to age ten years.
The recording had not only exposed the secret Laura had kept from him, but it had also shattered his own self-delusion.
He had listened to Laura’s justifications, yes. But every time he had opened the door for Gabriel, every time he had lied to Margot on a video call—those had been his choices.
Gabriel said quietly, “We all just wanted Mags back.”
Thomas’s head snapped up.
“Don’t you dare say ‘we.’”
“I was the one who hit her. When she was bleeding, I left her with Laura. You shoved her down, and then you went with me to take Sienna to the hospital.”
