He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 12
Eric took another step closer.
“We’ve known each other for years. You can’t just throw me away like this.”
I looked at him, the absurdity of his words washing over me.
Before, I had excused his indulgence of Madison, telling myself she was just a friend who needed looking after, believing Eric ultimately knew where to draw the line.
Now that they couldn’t even be bothered to hide the truth, I had no reason left to make excuses for him.
Still, he pressed on.
“I’ll change. I won’t see her again.”
“If you come back, we can get those orders back on track, too.”
I closed the file.
“Eric, you’re not here asking me to come back.”
“You’re here for Carrington’s orders and credit lines.”
My bluntness made his voice rise sharply.
“Don’t think you can talk to me like this just because Wyatt Winslow is helping you.”
“He’s been around. Do you really think he takes you seriously? Once the novelty wears off, he’ll toss you aside just like anyone else.”
“You’ve already had a wedding. Who else would—”
“Eric.”
A calm voice cut him off.
Wyatt stood in the doorway, a small bakery box in his hand.
He had gotten to the parking garage before remembering he’d left it in his car, and had come back to bring it up to me.
