He Chose Her On Our Wedding Night So I Took Everything Chapter 38

“I know.”

“It’s because over the past year, you learned how to ask. And I became sure that this was what I wanted.”

Before he kissed me, he lowered his head and paused.

“Is this okay now?”

I laughed.

“You don’t have to put that in an email every single time.”

We didn’t stage another grand wedding to prove a point.

A few months later, Wyatt and I went to the Los Angeles County Clerk’s Office.

The same place where I had once canceled an appointment with Eric.

This time, I chose the date, and we submitted the license application together.

My parents, Vivian, and Paige waited for us outside.

Before we signed, the clerk asked the requisite question about whether we were acting of our own free will.

“Yes,” I said, my voice clear.

Wyatt answered too.

“Yes.”

When we walked out, my mother hugged me.

“How does it feel?”

I glanced at the document in my hand.

“Like I just finalized a decision I made for myself.”

Vivian held out a set of car keys.

“So, lunch next?”

“Back to the showroom first.”

My father laughed.

“You’re working on your wedding day?”

“The restock order for the European stores has to be confirmed this afternoon.”

Wyatt opened the car door for me.
