He Chose His Ex So I Chose My Empire Chapter 10

He Chose His Ex So I Chose My Empire Chapter 10

When I handed in my resignation, I felt a weight lift from my shoulders for the first time.

Arthur Hayes, the foundation’s COO, took the letter, clearly stunned.

“Elara? What is this? Just because you didn’t get the Legacy Initiative?”

He pushed the letter back toward me.

“You’re being impulsive. You need to understand, Mr. Liam came here for Serena. Resigning now isn’t smart.”

“Without Serena, we never would have secured this donation. I’ll pretend I never saw this. Take it back.”

I shook my head and smiled faintly.

“Mr. Hayes, I think you should read the letter.”

“I’d like to leave as soon as possible. My projects are wrapped up, and I can complete the handover within a week.”

I couldn’t stay here, watching my husband pave the way for my rival, listening to everyone spin their story into a modern-day fairy tale.

Hayes looked at me, still trying to reason with me.

“Are you sure? I know you’re capable, but this industry isn’t just about talent.”

“Serena has Liam. Not to mention, Mr. Vance has always favored her. If you leave now, you’re burning your bridges.”

I didn’t bother correcting him about Serena’s supposed status.

I just looked at him and said calmly, “Mr. Hayes, I’m sure I want to resign.”

“I won’t regret it.”

In the end, he signed my resignation form.

My exit was official.
