He Erased Me From The Photo I Erased Him From My Life Chapter 21

He Erased Me From The Photo I Erased Him From My Life Chapter 21

The next morning, I was called into a meeting with HR.

The director laid a printout of Sloane’s post on the table.

“Our policy is not to take action against employees based on one-sided social media accusations,” she said. “However, the company was tagged, and the front desk has been receiving harassing calls. If you need support, please let us know.”

I forwarded her the file my lawyer had prepared.

“After tonight, it should stop.”

Sloane’s livestream started at seven p.m. Chicago time.

She wore a plain black sweater and sat in front of a framed copy of that “family photo,” her eyes already swollen as if she’d been crying for hours.

“I never wanted any of this to be public,” she said to the camera. “But Natalie used her resources to threaten me and tried to twist the pure, familial bond between Owen and me into something ugly.”

The comments scrolled by quickly.

Someone asked about the hotel email.

Sloane froze for a beat.

Fifteen minutes earlier, my lawyer had released a brief, factual statement.

It contained no adjectives, no accusations—only four screenshots with all private information redacted.

The Peninsula hotel confirmation, showing Owen and Sloane as the two guests in a king suite.

The DoorDash receipt from 10:43 p.m. that night, for emergency contraception and condoms delivered to that exact room.

Sloane’s Instagram post from that same time, featuring the fake ER photo.

And the original caption on the “family photo” she had just used to attack me: “This is the home he left us.”

Every time, address, and account lined up perfectly.

The tone of the livestream comments shifted instantly.

“A ‘pure family bond’ needs emergency contraception?”

“So the ER photo was fake?”

“Wait, the person who took that family photo was Natalie?”

The tears vanished from Sloane’s face.

“That order wasn’t mine,” she said quickly. “It was Owen’s shared account. Anyone could have logged in. Natalie could see it, too. She could have faked the whole thing.”

In the next second, a link to Owen’s public statement was shared in the chat.

He admitted to booking the hotel.

He admitted to placing the pharmacy order.

He also admitted that he had slept with Sloane that night, and that the ER post was a lie they had concocted together to cover their tracks.

The final line of his statement read:

“Natalie Reed never asked me to abandon anyone, nor did she destroy any family. She left because I betrayed her, repeatedly and without remorse.”

Sloane stared at the screen, her breathing growing shaky.

“He’ll say anything now to get back in her good graces.”

Forgetting she was still live, she snatched up her phone and frantically dialed.

The moment the call connected, she shrieked into the receiver:

“You booked the room, you bought the pills, and you were the one who told me to post that ER photo! And now you’re going to dump it all on me?”

The livestream went silent for a beat.

Then the comments exploded.

The very things she had just denied, she had now confirmed with her own mouth.
