He Forced Me To Abort Now He Begs Me Back Chapter 11
A week after Natalie posted the clarification, my lawyer filled me in on the fallout for the Cole family.
Natalie’s fiancé had publicly announced the end of their engagement and deleted every photo of them together. The Cole family’s reputation in Denver’s elite circles had collapsed, and Evan’s company had taken a hit, too—several major clients had already terminated their contracts.
As for Mason, a matching kidney had become available through the national organ-sharing network, and his surgery date had been set.

At five months pregnant, I went in for another checkup.
As the cool ultrasound probe moved across my belly, the 4D screen slowly brought my baby’s features into focus. Her legs were curled up. One tiny hand fluttered near her face, and after a few seconds, she gently rolled over.
The doctor smiled.
“She’s an active one. A little dancer.”
I stared at the screen, unable to look away.
“She’s developing very well, and her heartbeat is stable,” the doctor said. “Before long, you’ll be feeling her move.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than I felt the faintest little tap deep in my belly, like a tiny fish flicking its tail.
My hand flew to the spot.
“I think I just did.”
The doctor smiled and nodded.
I walked out of the OB wing with the ultrasound report, my other hand still resting protectively on my stomach.
The elevator stopped on the way down.
The sign above the doors read: Hematology.
The doors slid open, and when I looked up, I saw Evan.
He was sitting on a bench outside the transplant ward, his head in his hands, his back bowed like a taut string.
