He Left Me Broken Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 17
The opening night performance went off without a hitch.
By the third show, every seat was sold out. Soon, people were clamoring for added performances, and the company started getting attention from local media.
Before one evening show, Mia suddenly appeared at the theater with a cameraman and an assistant in tow. She announced she was there to interview the cast and crew.
Jenna glanced at the entourage blocking the door and murmured, “She’s not here to cover the show. She’s not even pretending to be.”
I walked over to them.
“We don’t accept unscheduled interviews. Please contact our producer to arrange something.”
Mia smiled, a slow, deliberate curving of her lips.
“It’ll only take a few minutes. We won’t be in your way.”
“The cast is preparing for the show.”
She drew out her words. “My, my. A little bit of buzz and suddenly the company is too good for interviews.”
My face went cold.
Mia turned to her cameraman. “It’s fine. Start rolling. Let’s just get some B-roll of the theater.”
The cameraman lifted his camera.
I stepped directly in front of the lens.
“Turn it off. You do not have permission to film here.”
Mia reached out and shoved my shoulder.
“That camera is expensive. If you break it, can you even afford to replace it?”
My leg still wasn’t completely steady. The push sent me stumbling backward.
A pair of hands caught me from behind.
Rowan stepped between me and Mia.
Mia froze for a second, then quickly rearranged her features into a smile.
“Ro, you’re here too! I was just trying to get a quick interview with Liv—”
Rowan cut her off.
“Olivia already said no. Turn off the camera.”
Mia’s smile tightened.
“I’m just doing my job.”
“And stop calling me Ro.”
