He Left Me Broken Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 35
“They’re still at Jenna’s.”
“You said you’d come home.”
“I said we could try again. I didn’t say we’d go right back to how things were.”
He was quiet for a moment.
“Okay.”
I looked at him.
“Really okay?”
“No. I want all of your things moved back here tonight.”
Before I could say anything, he added, “But that’s what I want. You don’t have to agree to it.”
A slow smile spread across my face.
“That’s progress.”
My phone rang. It was Jenna. The actors were arguing about a scene in Act Two, and she needed me back at the theater.
I grabbed my coat.
Rowan asked, “Do you want me to drive you?”
“No, thanks.”
“Should I save you some dinner?”
“Yes, please.”
He nodded.
No questions. No arguments. No wounded look because I’d said no.
I got to the door, then turned back.
“Rowan.”
“Yeah?”
“I’ll bring the second box over tomorrow night.”
Standing under the kitchen light, his eyes lit up.
“Can I help you carry it?”
“Yes.”
Lakefront Medical Center eventually agreed to take Rowan back.
