He Left Me For My Sister Now He Begs For Me Back Chapter 32

And now that I finally seemed to have a small piece of it, it no longer mattered.

I answered, “All right.”

Her eyes reddened.

“You still call me Mother.”

I was a little puzzled.

“What else would I call you?”

At that, she burst into tears.

I didn’t comfort her. I just waited quietly until she finished crying, then put on my white veil.

When I went downstairs, my father walked me to the car.

His steps were much slower than I remembered, and he said nothing the whole way.

Only when we reached the wedding car did he say in a low voice, “Adeline, I failed you.”

I was quiet for a moment.

“Father, take care of yourself.”

His steps faltered, but he didn’t turn to look at me.

The wedding and claiming ceremony were both held in the modern chapel on the west side of the Royal Castle.

Alpha King Adrian did not attend, but the Royal Council sent its formal congratulations. The Westmoor Pack’s Alpha Robert and Luna Clara sat in the front row, witnessing my willing entry into their Pack.

Gavin did not use his status as Alpha heir to demand my submission.

In front of everyone, he first asked if I was willing.

I said yes.

Our chosen-mate relationship was formally registered, and after the ceremony, the Pack bond was opened to me. It wasn’t a destiny I couldn’t refuse, but a choice we had made together.

After the banquet, Gavin removed my veil for me in our hotel suite.

The first thing I saw was his eyes.

He rarely smiled, but today, he couldn’t seem to stop one from forming.

I couldn’t help but ask, “Are you really that happy?”

He looked at me.

“Is it that obvious?”

“Very.”

He coughed once and turned his head, but not before I saw the tips of his ears turn red again.

And then I was laughing, too.
