He Let Me Bleed So I Let Him Go Chapter 22
When Elena didn’t respond, Bianca pressed on, her voice rising.
“And what happened between you and Dante? He’s been acting like a crazy person, searching for you everywhere. He’s torn apart every underground network in Chicago.”
“Why are you in Los Angeles? I went to see him, and he wouldn’t even let me in the door. He took away my communications authority, too.”
By the end, the grievance in her voice was unmistakable.
Elena heard it clearly.
In that entire tirade, there was only one thing Bianca truly cared about.
Dante wouldn’t see her.
“The marriage is dissolved,” Elena said flatly. “You knew that before anyone else, didn’t you?”
A flash of triumph lit Bianca’s eyes.
It was brief, but not brief enough for Elena to miss.
The next second, Bianca’s face was a mask of concern again.
“I’m going to be blunt. Dante wasn’t bad to you. He made the entire De Luca family accept you as his wife, he gave you the signet ring, and he never brought another woman home. How could you just leave him?”
“I thought you were just using those papers to scare him.”
“You can’t blame this all on me. Dante and I grew up together, and I represent the Ferraro family. Of course we’re close. If you left over alliance business, then frankly, that was irresponsible of you.”
Elena looked at her, her expression unreadable.
“Then tell me. Where, exactly, was he good to me?”
“The protection he gave me—didn’t you get more? And the position of his wife—was I the one sitting in it, or were you?”
Bianca’s mouth opened, then closed.
“I told you, we’re just friends.”
“Then why didn’t you tell him I went to the clinic to terminate the pregnancy?”
Bianca’s face changed instantly.
