He Locked Me Out Now He’s Begging Me Back Chapter 48
Someone else said they had been there that night, too, and that Tessa and Noah had seemed pitiful.
Others had figured out where I worked.
“I heard she’s management at a tech company. Is someone with that little empathy really fit to lead a team?”
I read the entire page from beginning to end and did not reply.
Marisol called immediately.
“She’s trying to direct people to your company on purpose.”
“I know.”
“So what now?”
I opened the bottom drawer of my desk.
The records of my contribution to the down payment. The screenshots of the lock permissions. The school district residency affidavit. The school’s written confirmation that I had removed myself from Noah’s pickup authorization. The court-stamped divorce and house sale documents. All of it was filed neatly in one folder by date.
Those papers had once been tossed in boxes in the ADU.
Now, not a single page was missing.
“I’m not going to fight with her online.”
I saved every page of the post and its comments, then forwarded them to my lawyer.
The body of the email contained only one line:
“Please tell me how to make her answer for these words.”
Half an hour later, my lawyer replied.
“Do not delete any past records, and do not argue with her in the comments. Bring the original documents. We’re meeting today.”
I closed my laptop and looked up at the clock on the wall.
At nine o’clock, I was supposed to lead the weekly project meeting.
I did not cancel it.
I just put my phone on silent, picked up my coffee, and walked into the conference room on time.
This time, I wasn’t going to let her crying take over my schedule again.
