He Married Another So I Accepted My Arranged Husband Chapter 26

That afternoon, the Moretti Family released a public statement.

They admitted that Talia’s accusations at the wedding regarding the photos and registration records had been false, and they accepted the full outcome of the arbitration concerning the wedding dress.

At the end of the statement, they added a final line:

*The Moretti Family has never authorized anyone to attack Indigo Conti by invoking the name of the deceased.*

I knew they hadn’t suddenly grown a conscience.

At the arbitration, Moretti had used Talia’s name to fight for Northstar’s equity.

After my briefing, everyone was asking the same question: if they truly believed I had driven Talia to her death, why were they still trying to enforce an alliance agreement that profited from her?

They had no choice but to cut themselves loose.

The Ferraro Family followed with a statement of its own.

They acknowledged that Salvatore had no authority to dispose of nominee-held equity and agreed to let the liquidation committee recalculate Northstar’s assets and debts accordingly.

The two families had once stood together for a wedding.

Now, in a desperate attempt to shed responsibility, they were each shoving the other into the spotlight.

The social media accounts that had spread the lies began deleting their posts one by one.

My advisers refused to accept simple deletions.

However those accounts had spread the false information, they were now required to issue corrections in the exact same manner.

Three days later, my name was trending again.

This time, the top post read:

*Indigo Conti did not destroy anyone’s marriage. While engaged to her for six years, Salvatore Ferraro registered his marriage to Talia Moretti and held a public wedding. Half of Northstar’s equity had long been governed by a nominee agreement.*

I looked at it once, then closed the page.

Desmond set a cup of coffee beside me.

“You’re not going to keep reading?”

“No.”

“When they were cursing you, you read every word.”

“Back then, I needed to know how far the lies had spread.”

I opened my project documents.

“Now, the people who need to correct the record have done so.”

“As for everyone else, what they choose to believe is not my responsibility.”

He sat down beside me.

“So, can we finally continue our honeymoon?”

“After the arbitration result comes out.”

He sighed dramatically.

“I’m starting to regret giving myself two months off.”

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Desmond Bellandi, are there things even you can’t get an immediate answer for?”

“Yes.”

He looked at me, his expression softening.

“For example, waiting for a certain braid-wearing girl to truly believe she doesn’t have to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.”
