He Signed My Freedom Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 04
“It was Mom!” Iris cried. “She knows we’re scared of wolfsbane, and she put the juice in our snack box on purpose!”
Noah nodded, his eyes wide with feigned terror. “She wanted our wolves to disappear.”
I gripped the doorframe, forcing myself to stay upright.
“Look at me. Do you understand what you’re saying?”
“That’s enough.”
Lucian seized my wrist. His grip was so hard I thought the bones would crack.
“You hurt them, and now you’re trying to intimidate them into changing their story?”
“I didn’t do it.”
“You expect me to believe two pups would conspire to frame their own mother?”
The children burst into louder sobs. Lucian immediately let go of me and turned to comfort them.
Then Noah looked over at me, his eyes red and swollen.
“She should have to drink it, too. If she drinks it, our wolves won’t hurt anymore.”
Iris chimed in at once. “Yeah. Let her hurt, too.”
The blood ran cold in my veins.
I looked at Lucian.
There was no hesitation on his face.
“Fine.”
When an Alpha gives an order in his own territory, his guards do not question it.
Two of them pinned me down. A Healer tried to intervene. “Alpha, concentrated wolfsbane can block an adult werewolf’s healing. The Luna still has old injuries—”
“If she dared give it to the pups, then she knew the consequences.”
