He Signed My Freedom Now He Wants Me Back Chapter 39
After the Highridge hearing ended, Lucian sent message after message.
At first, they were commands.
“Tell me your address.”
“Your Luna authority can be restored. I’ll handle what happened before.”
Then they turned into explanations.
“I didn’t know the children pushed you.”
“I misjudged the wolfsbane incident.”
“In the elevator, I chose Vivian because the Moon Festival was important for the alliance.”
And later, all that remained was the same sentence, over and over.
“Come back. We can start over.”
I never replied.
The Tidewatch Registry blocked his Luna restoration requests for me. An Alpha’s command held power in his own territory, but it could not cross two borders and decide for an adult who had already been granted an independent identity.
That was what the new order had truly given me.
Not a stronger man willing to defend me, but a system that recognized my will and refused to automatically return me to my former mate.
Lucian tried invoking his Alpha authority to make a territorial request to Tidewatch, claiming that although our claim had been cancelled, we still had children together, and he had the right to confirm where I lived.
Tidewatch only allowed him to submit child-related matters and returned all personal messages unopened. The Registry also warned him that continuing to bypass official channels to investigate my business records would be treated as cross-territory harassment.
Once, a single order from him could silence all of Highridge. Now he had to stand before another set of rules and learn that my “no” did not need his permission.
