He Stole My Children I Refused His Crown Chapter 06

That night, I put on a red dress, a wide-brimmed hat, and a mask. I made sure the people tailing me saw me circle two blocks before slipping through the back door of the Crown Theater.

Once word got out, young pack members, noble heirs, and online streamers began to flock to the theater.

Before long, the private corridor backstage was packed.

Following my instructions, Damien steered the crowd toward the suite at the far end of the hall.

Someone used an employee keycard to open the door.

And there, disheveled and half-dressed, were Lucian and Celeste, caught in the flash of dozens of phone cameras.

Lucian shot to his feet, wrapping his coat around Celeste.

In his panic, he called out to the figure in his arms.

“Willa, don’t be afraid!”

The corridor fell silent for a beat, then erupted into an even louder frenzy.

Maya and I stood at the back of the crowd. She was so furious she started rolling up her sleeves.

“He wants everyone to think you were the one in that room!”

I put a hand on her arm, stopping her. Not yet.

Her eyes were red with anger.

“Are you really going to let him ruin your reputation like this?”

I just shook my head.

Just then, a stern female voice cut through the noise from behind us.

“What is going on here?”

Everyone turned to see Princess Beatrice and Princess Marian, King Adrian’s two sisters-in-law.

They had just attended the theater’s charity premiere and were flanked by royal security.

The guards parted the crowd, revealing Lucian’s pale face and the trembling Celeste clutched in his arms.

I stepped out from behind the two princesses, removed my mask, and let my expression fill with surprise.

“Prince Lucian, were you calling for me just now?”

In an instant, every camera swung my way.

“Why is Willa out here? I thought the person in the room was—”

“I bet she’d lose her pack status tonight. I just lost everything!”

“So the secret date was a setup? Someone was trying to pin Lucian and Celeste’s affair on Willa?”

Whispers rose from all sides.

A young man who had lost his bet pointed at me and swore. Damien raised a hand to block his phone. The man stumbled backward, smashed his mouth on the doorframe, and lost a tooth.

In the chaos, Damien slipped a realistic-looking fake snake from a theater prop box and quietly tossed it near Celeste’s feet.

Lucian had finally started to regain his composure.
