He Was Reborn To Claim Me But I’m Already Married Chapter 15
“For the sake of what you once had, please, just go see him.”
From a distance, I glanced at Adrian.
Our eyes met. His were full of hope.
In the end, I didn’t go over.
I pretended I hadn’t even seen the precious everlasting flowers.
The love once represented by a card and a crown had drifted away long ago, tossed into the Charles River.
In the car, Evelyn looked at the stubborn figure in the distance and sighed.
“What is wrong with Adrian? When you were crazy about him, he had to act so tough. Now that you don’t care anymore, he’s full of regret.”
“I really don’t get it.”
I leaned against Evelyn’s shoulder.
Then I couldn’t resist teasing her.
“You should worry about your own love life.”
Evelyn laughed and pinched the soft flesh at my waist.
“You’ve gotten bold, haven’t you? Daring to make fun of your older sister.”
Later, I heard that Margaret had tried to force Adrian to go to the Whitmores to discuss a marriage alliance, but he’d refused and said something outrageous.
No one knew exactly what he’d said, only that the Hawthorne family’s PR team had worked overtime to suppress the news.
But the damage was done. The Whitmores were offended and now refused to consider an alliance under any circumstances.
