His Fake Proposal Led Me To My Real Husband Chapter 05
Tyler fell silent.
Mason came around the side of the stage and reached for my wrist.
Julian stepped forward, blocking his path.
“Mr. Westbrook. Stay away from my fiancée.”
Mason stared at the hand blocking him, then let out a sudden, cold laugh. There was an aggression in his eyes I’d never seen before.
“And who the hell are you?”
I stepped out from behind Julian and slapped Mason across the face.
His head snapped to the side. The corner of his mouth was already starting to bleed.
A sharp, collective gasp went through the room.
Mason slowly turned his head back to me, his voice dangerously low.
“You’re defending him? Rebecca, you hit me for *him*?”
“He’s my fiancé.”
Tyler charged up from the side and pointed at Julian.
“Who the hell are you, man? Ten minutes ago she was begging Mason to get engaged to her. You show up to take another man’s sloppy seconds—what does that make you?”
I slapped Tyler, too.
His head jerked in the other direction, his face immediately starting to swell.
“That slap was for teaching you how to speak to my fiancé.”
Tyler clutched his cheek, his eyes wide with disbelief.
“You hit me, too?”
“Yes. I did.”
“You humiliated me over and over, and I swallowed it because of Mason.”
“As of today, I’m done swallowing it.”
Tyler stood there, mouth agape, and looked at Mason for help.
Mason wasn’t looking at him.
Mason was only looking at me.
“You never used to hit people.”Â
