His Lesson Killed My Mother Now He Will Pay Chapter 13

When Sloane reached me, she glanced at my black suit and smiled.

“If your mother just needs new housing after the storm, don’t you think you’re being a little dramatic?”

Graham reached for my sleeve. I stepped away.

“Don’t touch me.”

“How much longer are you going to keep this act up?”

“You canceled the evacuation van. You ignored my calls. And you gave her my voicemail.”

Sloane shook her head. “We already verified everything. Your mother only needed routine assistance. You turned a worst-case scenario into a fact and used panic to manipulate Graham.”

I stared at her. “Who told you she was fine?”

She sighed.

“There you go again—manufacturing panic. Nora, you enjoy the attention a crisis brings you.”

Graham pulled me toward the side of the stage.

“The media is here. Major donors are here. You will go up there and say Elena was evacuated safely and that you exaggerated the situation.”

He lowered his voice, as if offering me a great kindness.

“In exchange, I’ll restore all your access immediately and set up a one-million-dollar trust for her future care.”
