His Lesson Killed My Mother Now He Will Pay Chapter 17
“I called you twenty-six times.”
I looked at Graham.
“Sloane said I was manipulating you, so you didn’t answer a single one.”
His lips moved, but no sound came out.
Sloane whirled toward the control booth. “Turn off the livestream! This was the evacuation company’s fault. When I called them, they didn’t say any of this. I thought it was just a delay.”
“Did you?”
Aisha pressed play.
A customer service recording filled the hall.
Sloane’s voice was crisp and clear. “Please cancel the order. And add a note to the system barring any rebooking requests from this address or from Nora Reyes personally.”
The customer service rep asked for a reason.
She gave a light, dismissive laugh. “We’re conducting an internal family consequence intervention. This is part of the treatment.”
Graham spun around. “I never told you to do that!”
“You authorized me to handle everything!”
“You were standing right next to me! You heard Nora say her mother was in critical condition!”
Sloane gritted her teeth. “That was always her go-to crisis line.”
Graham grabbed her wrist.
“When has she ever lied to me about her mother’s life?”
