His Lesson Killed My Mother Now He Will Pay Chapter 57

The day the court issued its summary judgment, rain was pouring outside.

The ruling confirmed that the relationship assessment system and its original question set had been independently created by my mother and me.

All of Sloane’s infringement claims were dismissed.

Her request for original user responses was denied as irrelevant to the copyright dispute and excessively invasive of privacy.

At the end of the opinion, the judge wrote:

*Making someone else’s experience public does not make the person who publicized it its owner.*

Sloane was also ordered to pay our litigation costs for abusing the discovery process.

That amount was added to the compensation she still owed.

When I walked out of the courthouse, she was waiting under the overhang.

“So you won. What of it?”

Rain had blurred her makeup. Her eyes were fixed on the ruling in my hand.

“If it weren’t for my show, who would have known about your system? Who would have known about Elena?”

I stopped.

“My mother didn’t need the whole world to know her.”

“She only needed one person to believe her when she asked for help.”

Sloane gave a cold laugh. “And now you stand up there so high above it all, but you still got here by stepping on me.”

“No.”

I handed the ruling to Aisha.

“I just removed you from my mother’s story.”

A court officer told Sloane to clear the exit.

As she turned away, she was still muttering that her lawyers would appeal.

But this time, there were no cameras waiting for her.

No platform left to amplify her voice.

The rain swallowed it all.
