His Love Is Not Visible Chapter 17

His Love Is Not Visible Chapter 17

Ethan punched Garrett in the face. Garrett hit him back almost immediately.

They crashed into a medical cart and then grappled with each other on the floor.

Doctors and nurses rushed to pull them apart. Ryan, who had arrived at some point, helped separate them.

At last, they stopped.

A long while later, Garrett came back into the room.

His eyes were red, and the corner of his mouth was split.

“You had an abortion three months ago?”

There was no point in hiding it anymore.

“Yes.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

I was exhausted, but my eyes still burned with unshed tears.

“I was working late that night. It was snowing, and I slipped in the parking lot.”

“The doctor said my condition was poor, and the fall had affected the baby. They couldn’t save it.”

Garrett drew a sharp breath, and a tear slid down his cheek.

He bent down and wrapped me in his arms. The hug was tight, but I didn’t lift a hand to return it.

“Laurie, why didn’t you tell me?”

“That was my child, too.”

I gave a small, bitter laugh.

“Garrett, I did call you. The call went through, but you never spoke to me.”

“Before that, we had just fought over those photos from the hotel. Do you still think I was the one who sent them?”

“After what you said to me that night, I didn’t want to explain anything anymore.”

“I didn’t think we should keep forcing this. Even if I hadn’t fallen, I might have chosen to end the pregnancy anyway.”

“We’re not suited to raise a child together.”

Garrett started to shake.

He let me go, pulled out his phone, and frantically scrolled through his call log from months ago.

He stared at the screen as if a memory was suddenly coming back to him.

“Laurie, Vanessa had my phone that night. She was using my phone.”

“I’m sorry.”

I turned my face toward the window.

“I’m tired. Please go.”

I simply didn’t want to say anything more.

Garrett didn’t leave. He just stood beside the bed, as if he didn’t know what else to do.

I closed my eyes.

After a while, I heard someone else come in.

From the footsteps, I guessed it was Ethan.
