His Number Changed So I Changed My Life Chapter 16
Before I could decide whether to tell Parker, the rumors started online.
Some claimed Parker had hidden a seven-year marriage.
Others said we were getting divorced.
And a few said the divorce was because his wife had cheated.
Several anonymous accounts posted photos of me with Austin. Our faces weren’t clear, but the angle was deliberately misleading, making it look as though we were kissing.
The posts were coordinated. Within a day, multiple entertainment blogs had reposted them.
Soon, his most extreme fans started trying to find my workplace and my address. Someone even posted the name of my mother’s neighborhood.
The moment I saw those photos, I knew who had taken them.
Only Madison could have seen us from that angle.
I was ready to divorce him, but that wasn’t enough for her. She had to make me the villain.
I wasn’t afraid of strangers cursing my name online, but I couldn’t let them show up at my mother’s door.
I went to the police station to report the doxxing and the threatening messages.
The officer saved the evidence and documented the accounts. He warned me that online investigations took time and told me to call 911 immediately if anyone showed up in person.
Austin called to ask if I was okay.
I told him I was fine and apologized again for dragging him into this.
After we hung up, I stared at the blank chat window with Parker.Â
