I Heard His Thoughts Never His Love Chapter 15

Later, a project we created together won an award.

At the ceremony, the host asked where my inspiration came from.

I looked toward Theo in the audience.

He held up his camera and silently mouthed at me without the slightest embarrassment,

You’re the best.

I smiled.

“My inspiration came from my husband.”

“He taught me that real love is spoken aloud.”

“And it’s proven through action.”

“He made me truly feel what it means to be loved.”

As applause filled the room, I suddenly realized that all the pain that had once weighed me down had finally drifted far away.

Every day ahead of me was something new.

As for Silas, he occasionally appeared in public-service interviews.

He had become quiet and patient.

He had learned to express every word of care clearly.

During one interview, someone asked what had led him down this path.

He was silent for a long time.

Then he answered,

“I once lost someone very important because I didn’t know how to express myself.”

“Later, I realized that love you never say out loud can’t erase the harm you’ve already caused.”

“So I wanted to teach children who are like I used to be how to love people properly.”

Someone off camera asked whether he regretted what happened.

He answered,

“Yes.”

“But regret isn’t a reason to demand that someone come back.”

“She has her own life now.”

“The only thing I can do is make sure I never become the person I used to be again.”

I didn’t finish watching the interview.

Theo poked his head out of the kitchen.

There was still flour on his hands.

“Nora, come save me. Why did the cake collapse again?”

I turned off the TV and headed toward the kitchen.

“Did you ignore the recipe again?”

“I followed it exactly.”

He raised three fingers with a completely serious expression.

“Maybe the cake couldn’t handle the weight of my love for you.”

“That’s why it collapsed.”

I burst out laughing.

“Stop it.”

He took the opportunity to smear flour on the tip of my nose.

Before I could get angry, he immediately handed me a tissue.

“Sorry, sorry.”

“I’ll make another one.”

Bright sunlight streamed through the windows.

The warm, sweet smell of cake filled our home.

My newly finished manuscript rested on the table.

Beside it were Theo’s notes, filled with praise and careful suggestions.

Our life wasn’t dramatic.

It wasn’t earth-shattering.

It was simply peaceful enough to make me happy.

I had spent ten years chasing after one person.

Then someone finally walked to my side, took my hand, and chose to spend the rest of his life moving forward with me.

This time, I didn’t need to hear anyone’s thoughts.

Because every time he said he loved me, I could believe him.
