I Let Her Ruin Herself Chapter 25

I Let Her Ruin Herself Chapter 25

“This isn’t about raising Taylor’s children for her,” Hannah said before I could speak.

“A lot of kids lose any chance at a normal life because their parents are incarcerated, or because of domestic violence, or school harassment. This project could provide legal and educational support, and every application would be reviewed by a third party.”

I turned to the second page.

It included witness anti-retaliation services, emergency school transfer support, and family legal aid.

In my last life, Hannah had been targeted just for calling 911 and saving that video. Derek’s friends and Shirley had gone after her, and no adult had ever truly protected her.

“Why First Light?” I asked.

“When children come out of the darkness, they have to see a little light first,” she said.

She lowered her head and kept revising the budget.

My nose stung, but I didn’t say anything.

I signed the project charter and turned its management over to an independent team.

The company provided the initial funding, and all future accounts would be public. Families receiving help would not be able to contact us directly.

If Taylor’s three daughters met the criteria, they could apply just like any other children.

This was not compensation for Taylor.
