I Made His Wife’s Dress Now I’ll Marry Another Chapter 43
“You said you needed to use one of the foundation’s international medical coordination slots and neglected to mention for whom,” Marguerite said, her sharp gaze fixed on Julien before anyone else. “So I had to come see for myself.”
Julien stood there and took the scolding without a single excuse.
Then she turned to me, her eyes sweeping over me from head to toe, stopping at the needle marks on my fingers.
“Clara Whitmore. You rewrote copyright contracts for three ateliers and managed to hide your own name best of all.”
“I used to.”
“And now?”
“I’m opening my own structural design studio.”
Marguerite tapped her cane lightly on the pavement. “The medical coordination will continue. Not because of your connection to Julien, but because the foundation’s charter already covers assistance for atelier workers and their immediate families.”
Then she looked at her grandson. “And before the end of the year, you will bring her to dinner.”
Julien started to speak.
She cut him off. “Not as a consultant. As what, she can decide for herself.”
After that, she handed me a copy of the foundation charter. Atelier workers and their direct family members had always been covered under the medical aid program. The only reason people without PR teams never knew was because no one had ever bothered to tell them.
“Systems are more reliable than favors,” Marguerite said. “If you find one only serves people whose names are already known, then you change it.”
