I Married The Disabled Billionaire Then My Family Begged Me To Come Back Chapter 01

The Replacement Bride

Adrian Sterling, the only heir to the Sterling empire, is paralyzed from the waist down in a car crash.

When the news hits the Hale mansion, Stella Hale, my fake sister, is already on her knees.

Crying and begging me to marry the Sterling heir in her place.

Adrian’s claim on Sterling Group is hanging by a thread.

No one wants to marry someone disabled and fallen from power.

I grip my water glass and take one cold step back.

“When I first came back to this family, you all looked down on me because I grew up in the country.”

“You said I was too rough around the edges. Not good enough for your world.”

“So you handed the Sterling engagement to her.”

“Now Adrian’s paralyzed and everyone thinks he’s finished, and you want me to clean up her mess?”

“Dream on.”

The front door swings open before anyone can answer.

My boyfriend, Silas Cole, walks in.

He rushes straight to Stella and shields her behind him like I’m some kind of monster.

Then he turns on me.

“Claire, don’t forget. That engagement was supposed to be yours when you first came home.”

“We’re just setting things right.”

His voice is ice.

“We’re done.”

“I’m getting engaged to Stella tomorrow.”

“Once everyone knows, you’ll have no choice but to marry Adrian Sterling.”

I freeze.

I stare at the man who grew up with me. Unbelievable.

“You know the Sterlings want the Hale daughter everyone recognizes.”

“I’m not even in the family records yet.”

“You really think they’ll accept some girl who popped up out of nowhere?”

“Do you think they’re stupid?”

My biological parents come downstairs, faces like stone.

Henry Hale throws a legal document onto the table in front of me.

“Starting tomorrow, we announce your identity publicly.”

“Stella has a bright future. She can’t waste her life nursing a cripple.”

“You’re the Hale family’s real daughter.”

“Marrying Mr. Sterling is your duty. Settle down and be Mrs. Sterling.”

I laugh at myself. Something inside me finally dies.

“Fine. I’ll marry him.”

“But don’t come begging me to come back.”
