I Signed Away Eight Million To Leave Him Chapter 11

He clearly hadn’t expected me to look at him like that.

“Come back to Palm Beach with me.” He slapped a hand against the metal gate. “You’ve thrown your tantrum long enough. It’s time to come home. The house is still there, and we can renegotiate the trust.”

“I don’t have a home there.”

“And what is this supposed to be? A dump of an apartment and a job anyone could do?”

He stared at me through the bars, his voice suddenly rising.

“You’d rather live like this than come back and ask for my help?”

“Yes.”

Graham’s face darkened completely.

While one guard turned to call his supervisor, Graham slammed his shoulder into the gate and forced his way into the elevator bay.

I stepped back, made no move to get in the car with him, and turned for the stairwell instead.

But he got there first.

By the time I reached my floor, Graham was already standing at my apartment door. I had pulled it shut in a rush when I’d gone downstairs, but I hadn’t fully locked it.

He shoved it open.

“You can’t go in there!”

One of the guards came up behind us and reached for him.

Graham shrugged him off and stumbled into the low cabinet by the entryway.

The old picture frame on top of it wobbled.

My expression changed instantly, and I lunged to catch it.
