The host asked, “Before the interview, did you know Graham had forced his way into her apartment?”
Sloane’s grip tightened on the papers in her hand.
“Yes.”
“And that at your wedding, he tried to go after Mara, who was already married?”
“Yes.”
“Then why did you still claim that Mara was the one who wouldn’t let go?”
She was silent for a long time.
“Because I hated her.”
It was the only true sentence she had spoken during the entire ordeal.
When the statement was finished, she stood and left.
There was no applause, and no one went after her to comfort her.
