My Fake Death Was The Punchline To His Cruel Joke Chapter 21

Those files had once been a record of my shame.

Now, they would be a record of their accountability.

That afternoon, I formally filed a civil suit.

The complaint contained no emotional language, no mention of my shattered trust or broken heart.

I simply listed the facts.

Test seventeen: locked on a terrace in a rainstorm for forty-five minutes.

Test forty-three: a crucial work presentation maliciously sabotaged.

Test ninety-seven: publicly humiliated and escorted out a service exit.

Test ninety-nine: physically restrained while being poisoned, as a circle of friends filmed my reaction.

After each entry, I cited the original video number, the chat log page, and a list of all participants present.

When the news reached Newport, they scrambled to hold a press conference.

One of the men who had been filming at Camille’s party stood before the cameras, the picture of innocence.

“The people who really hurt her were Camille and Bennett. We didn’t do anything.”

A reporter asked, “Did you watch the videos?”

He hesitated. “I don’t recall.”

Before the livestream even ended, Leo had cued up the first video from the cloud album.

The man’s voice was unmistakable, his off-camera bet ringing out loud and clear:

“Five hundred says she gives up in half an hour.”

I didn’t leak the clip to the media.

I simply submitted it to the court.

Public humiliation wasn’t justice.

What I wanted was for every jeer, every laugh, every moment they stood by and did nothing, to have a real, legal consequence.
